Creative Power specializes in the development of custom DC to AC and AC to AC inverters for both on-grid and off-grid applications. In addition Creative Power has developed grid connected bidirectional systems in both single and three phase configurations. These offer the flexibility of bidirectional power flow for applications such as battery chargers or microgrid power supplies.
In addition to these available products, Creative Power specializes in the development of custom product solutions to meet specific customer requirements. Utilising Creative Power's extensive "building blocks" of controllers and power stage experience, Creative Power can design and construct custom products. CPT is certain that we can provide you with a solution to your problems. |
Creative Power developed a range of underslung mounted Inverter products, in both single and three phase designed for extreme environment operation. These inverters are IP67 rated to handle monsoonal conditions and must be a rugged construction to handle shock, vibration and direct impacts. They were operating from the nominal on-card 110V battery banks to produce either 110V, 230V or 3 phase 415V depending on the carriage.

The 5kVA Inverter Module is a grid connected 3 phase inverter for use on microgrids. The Inverter Module interfaces directly to a DC/DC Converter Module, such as the 5 and 15kW Fuel Cell Converters available through Creative Power.
The Inverter has an isolated RS485 MODBUS interface that provides bi-directional real and reactive power flow control. Note this requires a bi-directional DC-DC converter (CPT custom designed).

The 30kVA Inverter Module is a standalone 3 phase inverter for use from alternator supplies. The Inverter Module interfaces directly with an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) front end. This enables the inverter to generate a regulated 400V-50Hz/60Hz from a variable voltage/frequency Alternator output.

The 2.5 kVA inverter suited underslung railway coach mounting. The enclosure was IP67 rated and could withstand shock impacts and Monsoonal flooding. 3mm steel enclosures, natural cooling, and a robust, rugged construction formed the exterior of the inverter.
Internally, this inverter range contained a double conversion topology, with galvanic isolation. An input boost stage with a nominal 110 V DC input produced an intermediate DC bus. From this bus a single phase inverter output voltage was generated. This system was available in either 110 V or 230V AC single phase 50 Hz output supply alternatives.
This inverter range was developed in 2008 and manufactured in the thousands by a third party company using CPT's design.
CPT can design and manufacture equivalent products utilising today's technology.

The 25 kVA inverter suited underslung railway coach mounting. The enclosure was IP67 rated and could withstand shock impacts and Monsoonal flooding. 3mm steel enclosures, natural cooling, and a robust, rugged construction formed the exterior of the inverter. Hence the power stage devices were heavily overrated. If the inverter had been fan forced cooled, the power stage would be rated at >100kW.
The Inverter contained a double conversion non-isolated topology, utilising IGBT technology to convert a nominal 110 V DC battery bank supply into a 415 V AC, 3 phase, 50 Hz power supply for air conditioning units and associated loads, such as coach fans and lights, water raising apparatus, evaporator fans, condenser fans, compressors etc., that are installed in conventional coaches in international markets. The system contained earth leakage protection and a remote display located within the driver's cab.
This Model was developed in 2008 for manufacturing by a third party company to CPT's design.
