The Alternator Based Battery Charger Module (ABBC) is a 30A rated battery charger that supports operation from an alternator 3 phase output. It produces a non-isolated current regulated nominal 14V output, compatible with a 12V battery system. The system can operate independently of any other sources/loads on the bus and the current regulated output enables the charger to be paralleled with existing battery chargers. The ABBC is compatible with a wide variety of battery technologies. The ABBC monitors the alternator winding temperature and supports a thermostat. |
The ABBC is Fully Sealed (IP67). It supports external underslung mounting, is Naturally Cooled and requires Minimal Maintenance. An Ethernet interface enables external communications for status monitoring. The Alternator Based Battery Charger, 30A Regulator Packs were developed by Creative Power for the Monash Institute of Railway Technology for use within their Wagon Monitoring Systems. CPT has the capability to design and manufacture similar products for our clients, but for this specific product and application, please contact Monash Institute of Railway Technology. |
