The 450A & 900A Regulator Packs work in conjunction with the Milspec Permanent Magnet Alternator. They are designed to work as an integrated pack within a vehicle. The overall system is water cooled using appropriate radiator coolant. A single coolant path is available through the Regulator Pack and Alternator. The integrated product is available through Milspec Manufacturing in this configuration. The Alternator produces a variable AC voltage and frequency output with a power rating of approximately 14kW. The output voltage varies with the speed of the generator shaft connected to the Alternator. The alternator has dual output windings, which are separately rectified and fed to the 450A & 900A Regulator Packs. |
The Regulator packs produce a regulated nominal 24VDC battery compatible output (default 28.3V set point). The default Alternator/Regulator System is a 450A output Module. These Modules can be configured for either stand-alone 450A or paralleled 900A system form. The 900A system has master/slave internal communications to maintain correct operation. External communication is supported through a SAE J-1939 compatible CAN interface. There is one CAN interface per "System", with the 900A internal communications handling data transfer between the Master and Slave Modules. The 450A Regulator Packs were developed by Creative Power for Milspec Manufacturing for use within their Alternator Regulator Products. CPT has the capability to design and manufacture similar products for our clients, but for this specific product and application, please contact Milspec Manufacturing. |
