CS-IIB - 2kW 2 to 4 Phase Leg Inverter

The CS-IIB is a flexible, low-voltage, 4-phase leg integrated inverter designed for applications requiring a single simple platform. The board includes an on-card IGBT-based power stage and digital and analog conditioned signals that enable operation as a standalone inverter. The core of the board has a CS-MiniDSP interface that enables a plug-in controller (such as the CS-MiniDSP or CPT-Mini2810) to provide overall system control. This structure provides a direct upgrade path for the board as a new core processor can be added to the system

Technical Specifications

 

  • The board consists of 6 major sections:

    • Switch-mode power supply to generate all on-card supplies
    • 8 off complementary isolated gate driver PWM outputs, with common fault interrupt
    • 4 phase leg TO-247 FET based power stage, including input rectifier.
    • Isolated RS-232 serial interface
    • Various Signal conditioning for 16 off Analog inputs
    • LCD / Keypad / Digital I/O

    The CS-IIB is capable of operation up to 15A with a 400V DC bus. The power stage is designed primarily for TO-247 FET/IGBT based switching devices. The system can be operated without the power stage, thus allowing the gate drivers to supply a larger capacity (up to 40kVA) and higher voltage (600V) inverter.

  • The power stage can be configured as follows:
    • Single bus, Dual-H Bridge inverter (back-to back DC converter operation)
    • Dual bus, Dual-H Bridge inverter
    • Single bus 3 leg inverter
    • Dual bus 3 leg inverter with single leg buck.
    • Single bus 4 leg inverter
